Department of Product and Industrial Design has arranged a lecture on ‘Role of Aesthetic in Everyday Design’, delivered by Ms. Alina Naeem Butt. She shared her design experience in the industry on a variety of products that become part of the culture and global context. The appearance and surface design’s role in shaping the aesthetic of products ranging from mobile phones, furniture, architecture, interior, fashion design, web design, and food presentation but not limited to were briefly discussed as examples. The students were introduced to professional fonts such as Corporate, Roboto, and Poppins and how variation occurs in web and app development. It was further discussed in detail the need for a standardized approach to aesthetics for various elements and principles of design that can foster the product aesthetics strongly.
