A one-day guest Lecture on “Introduction to Project Management Information System (PMIS)’’ was organized by the Course Instructor (Dr.-Ing Atif Bilal Aslam) for the postgraduate students under the subject of ‘Project Planning and Management’ at the Department of Product and Industrial Design, UET, Lahore. (PID), University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore.
The guest speaker; Mr. Muhammad Shoaib, a UET Lahore Alumni (2000 CRP) and distinguished Project Management Specialist, first gave the students a brief introduction to project management and the steps involved in project information storing, retrieving, and presenting. While discussing the latest project management trends to keep the students updated regarding modern practices of the industry, hands-on training was provided using a cloud-based project Management Information System/Dashboard; Bitrix24. Mr. Shoaib provided step-by-step guidance to the students and thoroughly explained the tools the software provides.
The students found the contents of the lecture very useful for their upcoming endeavors and future practical experience. Toward the end of the lecture, there was a question-answer session that helped the participants gain more insight into the software and its importance in the global market.
