Product and Industrial Design

Today, students from the 2023 session participated in an engaging and hands-on workshop focused on surface finishing in furniture design. The session was conducted by Ms. Sara Zaheer, DIY and Furniture Restoration Artist and graduate of UET Lahore, known for her expertise in breathing new life into old and timeless furniture pieces.

During the workshop, students learned:

Techniques for surface preparation

Methods of polishing, staining, and paint application

How thoughtful finishing choices can enhance both durability and aesthetics

The demonstration was followed by an interactive practice session, allowing students to apply the techniques directly and develop confidence in material handling and finishing craftsmanship.
